The Conscious Illusion
If you are sure you know who you are before reading this book, be aware you may not be so sure when you are finished.
This book deals with the illusionary 'self', the persona that wakes up every day wanting to be in control. This 'self' rejects the idea that it is incapable of being in control, nor is it capable of waking up.
This is the illusionary self that creates erroneous fears, and ruins our lives.
----------------------
We have a designated path in life, one that we are meant to follow so that we may realise our purpose.
Our consciousness is reflected in our ability to stay in alignment with this path.
Incorporated into the subconscious is the ego. The ego is a construct with pre-programmed set points that utilises conscience, intellect, intuition, timing and logic to aid us on our journey and direct us on our path.
The ego has been gifted with all the resources necessary to enable the successful realisation of our purpose.
However, during our formative years these set points become corrupt. Because of this, unknown to us a false ego develops that takes control of who we are and diverts us from our path.
Our life has a direct path, one in which we are always following, our spiritual calling. Our ego however, fearful of following this path on which it has to relinquish control and is guided only by faith, endeavours to pull us from our path in a direction it believes it is best able to control. Our ego, believing it knows what is best for us, imposes its choice of path upon us.
“There is but one cause of human failure. And that is man’s lack of faith in his true Self.”
William James.1842-1910
The ego graduates to manifest into companies, institutions and governments through their personnel.
Because personnel are promoted through a form of natural selection, this leads to a disproportionately high representation of people that have psychopathic or borderline psychopathic tendencies jointly manipulating their way into the upper echelons of their ranks.
“It is said that power corrupts, but actually it's more true that power attracts the corruptible. The sane are usually attracted by other things than power.” David Brin
This in turn causes the entities to become manipulative, controlling and ultimately psychopathic in nature themselves. This disorder facilitates the formation of dictatorships and cabals at the heads of these entities, which then create policies that are designed to facilitate their seizing power and ensuring its retention rather than doing what is best for the entity as a whole. This is the collective pain-body and is a systemic flaw in the human psyche that unconsciously to the masses infiltrates and corrupts the purest of isms and ideologies.
“When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men in a society, over the course of time they create for themselves a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that glorifies it.”
Frederic Bastait
In preference to what is in the best interests of its people, a hijacked governmental structure by its nature will always prioritise its actions to secure and justify its own position of power and control.
“The Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power, pure power.” George Orwell (1984)
Constitutions and articles of memorandum are instruments that are put in place to safeguard against this phenomenon. However, even if these safeguards were fully comprehensive in their construct, the longer these instruments are in place the more likely their effect will have been eroded and weakened by either contrived or opportunistic amendments.
“The best way to take control over a people and control them utterly is to take a little of their freedom at a time, to erode rights by a thousand tiny and almost imperceptible reductions. In this way, the people will not see those rights and freedoms being removed until past the point at which these changes cannot be reversed.”
Adolf Hitler
The host entity ultimately comes to be covertly controlled by an elite few. These few perpetuate themselves over time from the ranks of their cohorts. They have their own agenda and are very adept at systematically manipulating and compromising the political arena for the achievement of their own ends.
“Governments are not representative. They have their own power, serving segments of the population that are dominant and rich.” Noam Chomsky
Because of the ego’s need to consolidate its control over its host, the servants of the entity which were supposed to be its bastions of power, unconsciously to the mass population are co-opted through surreptitious means by the psychopaths into a symbiotic entity. The symbiotic entity itself then becomes psychopathic and parasitical in nature and systematically drains its host’s resources to sustain itself.
"The Matrix is a system, Neo. That system is our enemy. But when you're inside, you look around, what do you see? Businessmen, teachers, lawyers, carpenters. The very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inert, so hopelessly dependent on the system that they will fight to protect it."
The Matrix (Movie)
The system is the deep state or shadow government that has come to believe it is autonyms onto itself.
In preference to what is in the best interests of its people, a hijacked governmental structure by its nature will always prioritise its actions to secure and justify its own position of power and control. The hijacked Government is now maintained through a system that is reliant on fear based control that forces its population into subservience. Any internal threat to the government from rebellious segments of the population is not to be tolerated and will be either enticed or coerced back into the system, or if deemed necessary by the state, purged from the system.
“For we are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies on covert means for expanding its sphere of influence—on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice, on guerrillas by night instead of armies by day. It is a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific and political operations. Its preparations are concealed, not published. Its mistakes are buried not headlined. Its dissenters are silenced, not praised. No expenditure is questioned, no rumour is printed, no secret is revealed.” John F. Kennedy
The pain-body is unforgiving to its dissenters. The system’s priority is to maintain its own integrity at any price.
“The Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power, pure power.” George Orwell (1984)
Due to cognitive dissonance and apathy, the greater population as a whole remains unconscious to this reality, despite its blatancy.
“The price of apathy towards public affairs is to be ruled by evil men.” Plato
The more traumatic fear is created, the further the egos and its host descend into unconsciousness and the more the collective pain-body is revealed.
“You have to speak truth to power when it is behaving like a stupid virus killing the organism in which it lives, our societies, our Europe, our world.”
Yianis Varoufakis
Just as an ebbing tide allows a submerged rock to rise from the water, so does the ego’s descent into extreme unconsciousness allow the pain-body to rise to its maximum prowess, to take full possession of the ego and its host.
Captain America: “This isn’t freedom this is fear.”
Nick Fury: “S.H.I.E.L.D. takes the world as it is, not as we would like it to be. And it’s getting damn near time you got with the program Cap.”
Captain America: “Don’t hold your breath.”Captain America (Movie)
The descent of a government ego into extreme unconsciousness ultimately manifests as the depravities of authoritarianism combined with social unrest. When a countries pain-body feels resourced enough its malice is extended to external countries that fall within its sphere of influence. Contriving a villainous enemy for its host to project its fears onto and divert attention away from its failings is a stratagem used by the pain-body to feed the fear on which it needs to survive.
“The supreme mystery of despotism, its prop and stay, is to keep men in a state of deception, and cloak the fear by which they must be held in check, so that they will fight for their servitude as if for salvation.” Baruch Spinoza (1632 – 1677)
The pain-body’s violence can be directed inwardly onto its population or externally onto a perceived enemy as it deems fit. The implementation of the pain-body’s rule cannot be enforced without the complicity of its obedient minions.
“By far the greatest part of violence that humans have inflicted on each other is not the work of criminals or the mentally deranged, but by normal, respectable citizens in the service of the collective ego.” Eckhart Tolle.
As a whole the population unconsciously gives away its power, the controllers by their nature gravitate to a place in society that takes it. This as a process has been playing out for millennia and has been the hidden cause of countless wars and endless suffering.
“Since mankind's dawn, a handful of oppressors have accepted the responsibility over our lives that we should have accepted for ourselves. By doing so, they took our power. By doing nothing, we gave it away. We've seen where their way leads, through camps and wars, towards the slaughterhouse.”
Alan Moore
Hard fought idealistic revolutions that are meant to remedy this condition, given time, will themselves invariably be hijacked as the deposed entity manifests itself again but in a different guise. This as a phenomenon is a reflection of the prevailing consciousness of the population. If the consciousness does not change, nothing changes.
“Humanity is now faced with a stark choice: Evolve or die. … If the structures of the human mind remain unchanged, we will always end up re-creating the same world, the same evils, the same dysfunction.” Eckhart Tolle
As the atmosphere uses the weather to reconcile the differentials between it’s high and low temperatures, this ongoing duel between opposites is the Karmic balancing of an equation. The controllers’ actions are unconsciously dictated to them by their fears and the peoples’ actions are dictated by theirs.
“Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” George Santayana
Because of the controllers’ proclivity to equate money with power this manifestation is most visible in commerce, where instead of trickledown economics we get hoovering up economics. In a world that is capable of providing for all, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.
“I did not see anything to help my people. I could see that the white man did not care for each other the way our people did. They would take everything from each other if they could and so they were some who had more of everything than they could use, while crowds of people had nothing at all and maybe were starving.” Black Elk (After visiting New York 1886)
There are no winners in this power game however, even though the controllers seem to have the upper hand their Karma unconsciously creates for them a host of other problems that they have to deal with.
“Power over others is weakness disguised as strength.” Eckhart Tolle
Their driving unconscious fear is loss of power. Their unconscious belief is that if power is not taken from them it will sooner or later slip from their grasp. This creates in them an incessant anxiety that compels them into acting as the ruthless controllers of their environment.
“Power does not corrupt. Fear corrupts... perhaps the fear of a loss of power.” John Steinbeck.
However, caution must be exercised here to the use of violence as a reactionary response to the controllers’ violence, as this has been tried many times in the past without success as a remedy to this condition. Instead, by consciously deciding not to become subservient to the collective ego we play our part in diminishing the fearful conditions that the pain-body needs to feed on.
“Ye have heard that it hath been said, an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
But I say unto you, that ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.” Jesus
The path to freedom lies in the world’s population as a whole growing in consciousness. The only way for this to be possible is for each individual to independently grow in consciousness. As the population ascends into a more conscious way of being, the grip of the controllers fears that would have directed it into suffering, diminish.
“A great human revolution in just a single individual will help achieve a change in the destiny of a nation and, further, can even enable a change in the destiny of all humankind.”
Daisaku Ikeda. The Human Revolution
One conscious individual is capable of significantly counteracting the malaise of their society by raising the consciousness of the masses, and has done so, i.e. Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Abraham Lincoln, Nelson Mandela, Aung San Suu Kyi, Buddha, Jesus and Christina Noble.
“Change in society is of secondary importance; that will come about naturally, inevitably, when you as a human being bring about the change in yourself.” Jiddu Krishnamurti
When human consciousness rises to a critical mass the false ego will lift and disappear like a fog from a hot summer’s morning.
“You must be the change you want to see in the world.” Mahatma Gandhi.
